Citing a Podcast Episode

Podcast reference structure:

Host Last Name, F. M. (Contributor title). (Year, Month Date). Title of podcast episode (No. #) [Audio podcast episode]. Podcast Name. Publisher or Radio Station Name. URL

In-text citation structure & examples:

(Host Last Name, Year, Timestamp if quoting)

If you are using a direct quote, cite the time stamp the quote starts.

Quote structure & example:

According to Parthasarathy, “They end up there because enterprising people see a market, as they often do” (Ma & Smith, 2021, 1:08).

To cite an online interview, you need to have the name of the interviewee and interviewer, year/date, and title of the interview. To cite a podcast in APA style, you will need the name of the host or the executive producer, year, month, day, episode title, production company, and URL. Note that month and day are not mentioned in in-text citations.
