How to Cite an eBook in Chicago

Structure:

Last name, First name. Title of work. Publisher city: Publisher, Year of publication. E-reader edition.

Example:

Stoker, Bram. Dracula. Mineola: Dover Publications, 2000. Kindle HDX edition.

How to Cite an eBook From a Database in Chicago

Structure:

Last, First M. Book Title. City: Publisher, Year. doi:XXXX OR URL.

Example:

Rodgriuez-Garcia, Rosalia, and Elizabeth M. White. Self-Assessment in Managing for Results: Conducting Self-Assessment for Development Practitioners. Washington, D.C.: The World Bank, 2005. doi:10.1596/978-0-8213-6148-1.

Make sure to:

  • Add DOI (Digital Object Identifier) if it is available after at the end of the citation after “Year”.
  • URL Note: Add homepage URL of publisher. If none, use the homepage database URL. If published only online, use unique URL.
