What is a noun?

A noun refers to a person, place, thing, or idea.

Unlike other nouns, nouns starting with are more common. They are often paired with other consonants such as A, O, and U. Today, have you thought about the cup of coffee in your hand or the cell phone you have on your desk? In writing, we often use articles before nouns, such as “a,” “an,” or “the.” Being the subject of a sentence is one of a noun’s main purposes. In this guide, you’ll see a list of 25 nouns that start with C, as well as their definitions, plurals, and usage examples.
