Documentation and Citing Sources

It is always required that you properly cite any sources that you use to complete your paper or project. Here are some tips:

  1. Citation is required by copyright law and by all schools and centers of education.
  2. Direct quotes, paraphrasing, and facts not generally known are all required to be cited.
  3. Different learning disciplines have different preferred methods for citing sources. For instance, scientific fields of studies usually require citing sources in APA format. Always check with your teacher or professor to see which format they prefer.
  4. The main goal of citation is to provide adequate information to the reader so that they can access the sources you used, or to clearly show where you researched your ideas.
